In my work, I need to use powerpoint to make weekly reports. In the weekly reports, there are some charts that are linked to multiple different Excel files. When using the windows system, I can achieve the automatic batch update of the charts in the weekly reports  by using the following steps:

  • Paste the charts in the excel document into the slides as a reserved source format and linked data
  • Select the chart link to be updated in the file-information-edit link to the file
  • In ordinary work, I will update the involved data in the corresponding excel file, and the related charts are also updated accordingly
  • Every week when I open the weekly slide file, powerpoint displays a pop-up: "This presentation contains links to other files" and asks if I will update the link
  • Select the update link, and all the charts in the weekly report document will be updated in batches synchronously

Recently,I bought a Macbook. In order to achieve this function, I have operate the first step, but the next four steps cannot be operated. And I can only click each chart alone to select ‘Edit data in excel’ to update the data of each chart separately, so that the operation efficiency is very low.

How can I analogously implement the batch update of charts in my weekly reports slides linked to multiple Excel files ?
