Subject: Help Needed with Persistent Game Crashes and nvlddmkm Error
Dear Microsoft Support,
I am experiencing persistent game crashes on my system, accompanied by the following error message in Event Viewer:
- Error Source: nvlddmkm
- Event ID: 153
- Error Message: "The description for Event ID 153 from source nvlddmkm cannot be found. Either the component that raises this event is not installed on your local computer, or the installation is corrupted. You can install or repair the component on the local computer. If the event originated on another computer, the display information had to be saved with the event. The following information was included with the event: \Device\VideoX Error occurred on GPUID: 500."
This error occurs across multiple games, including Counter-Strike 2, Red Dead Redemption 2, Minecraft, and PUBG. Despite my system functioning normally for all other tasks, gaming is consistently interrupted by these crashes.
Here are the troubleshooting steps I have already taken to resolve the issue, without success:
- Reinstalled graphics drivers using Safe Mode.
- Tried multiple older versions of the GPU driver.
- Underclocked the GPU to test for stability issues.
- Updated Windows, all drivers (including GPU, chipset, and audio), and even flashed the latest BIOS.
- Checked system stability by performing stress tests and monitoring for overheating.
- Scanned Event Viewer for any other related errors, finding DistributedCOM warnings (Event ID 10016) occurring just before the crashes.
Unfortunately, none of these steps have resolved the issue. I am not in a position to test the GPU in another system at this time.
Could you please provide guidance on how I can further troubleshoot and resolve this problem? Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you for your time and support.
Sincerely, Aleksandar NeskovićSubject: Help Needed with Persistent Game Crashes and nvlddmkm Error
