Error message : Exception when processing request: ErrorCode:(3871) UserErrorDataScanPowerBIBasicMetadataFailure.

I have been trying to resolve this issue to no avail. I have followed all within this https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/training/modules/manage-power-bi-artifacts-use-microsoft-purview/2-register-scan-tenant and yet I keep getting this email. I have set up a security group, enabled the API on the Power Bi Admin page and troubleshot with other resources found online, yet I can't seem to resolve this, so i have to write my first post.
I need urgent help from all and sundry as long as it helps me understand while this error persist and make the desired progress.
See images as attached (inclusive is powerbi API settings enabled).

I have exactly the same issue - identical errors. Spent hours trying to resolve it.

Message: Exception when processing request: ErrorCode:(3871) UserErrorDataScanPowerBIBasicMetadataFailure.

Target is Fabric managed Power BI (not self-hosted). Anyone? @satishbodduakon ? @Francis Ugoo Ezekoma ?

I was able to make it work. Here's how I set it up:

    1. Created a security group on EntraID and added both 'Fabric Identity Management' and my service principal for Purview as members: User's image

    1. On Fabric/PowerBI admin center, under 'tenant settings', enabled metadata and advanced metadata for APIs and added this security group to the list:
