We have set up MS Teams from a Shared Mailbox (I know this is less than ideal but couldn't get it to work from MS Teams Channel Calendar) - the meetings are set up to automatically record. Each time the meeting is conducted the recording goes into a user's OneDrive, a different user each time and there is no logic (that we can see) as to why the recording is going there. They are not the first person to join the meeting. Anyway is there a way to ensure the recordings go to the same location each time? I can find the meetings in MS Stream but if someone else accesses the recording and watches for a while, a new instance of the recordings is created that lasts for exactly the viewing time of the person who has accessed it. Thanks Penny

If a shared mailbox, which does not have a license is used as the organizer of a Teams meeting, and the meeting recording is set to auto-record, here’s what will happen:

    Auto-recording Behavior:

    • Recording won’t start automatically.
    • Auto-recording requires that the meeting organizer has a Teams license and OneDrive or SharePoint storage for the recording to be saved.
    • Since unlicensed shared mailboxes don’t have OneDrive or storage, the auto-recording feature cannot function.
