SSRS - Exporting report with 2 tables to CSV Issue

Hello,

Historically we have been exporting 2 tables seperated by one blank row in an SSRS report to CSV format. However recently this month the format has changed and not displaying correctly. The version of SSRS being used is 15.0.7243.37714.

Visual examples are below.

Format 1 - This is the format that the report is usually exported as:

Format 2 - However since this weekend the format has changed to this

Does anyone know how to resolve this issue and to get the format back to Format 1 or is this a consequence of a recent release that has impacted the CSV rendering option?

Thanks for your help,
Sarah

    Hi @Sarah Chapman

Unfortunately, that is how the CSV export works. It is not pretty.

More often than not, when it comes to reports that are more than just simple tables of data, the CSV data is almost useless after export.

Your best bet would be to create a report that is a little more friendly toward CSV exports, or avoid exporting to CSV if you don't have to. Excel tends to work much better for most exports.
