Switchable Graphics Not Working In Windows 10

I have recently upgraded a graphics card in my All in One Acer Aspire which uses the 1080p built in display for either the Intel HD or Nvidia graphics card that used Nvidia Optimus to a newer Nvidia gt1030 GPU that dosent have Optimus support and have issues.

First issue is that with everything being updated and even unistalling and reinstalling the graphics card drivers I am still unable to select it in windows advanced display settings or Nvidia Control panel to be used to run programs.

Some times the program/game will use the graphics card to a certain extent but mostly it wont.

After using a dummy plug in the Nvidia GT1030 I have to trick it into thinking there is a display plugged in and using the hotkeys Win + P to switch to the second display everything will use the GT1030 provided I can also use the hotkeys WIN + Shift + Arrow to move the program to the second display.

My work around works but am confused as to why I can select it within windows or NVIDIA control panel.

Do you have any insight or advice???

    Hello @Ashranold

You should post this question in the forums of the computer manufacturer, since both the hardware architecture involved (integrated monitor) as well the distribution of Windows (OEM version) are modified by the manufacturer.

There may be involved issues on how the motherboard connects the monitor to the GPU, as well can be limitations on the OEM version of Windows installed, that their community would be better specialized to answer.

Hope this helps with your query,
