I deployed a Synapse Workspace a long time ago. It never finished deploying, and now I want to get rid of it, but I am unable to delete it. The deletion fails with message: "Workspace is in non-terminal state Provisioning and cannot be updated". The details are as follows:

<< Removed Personally Identifiable information(PII) >>

Please delete the resource group

Azure Synapse Analytics
Azure Synapse Analytics
An Azure analytics service that brings together data integration, enterprise data warehousing, and big data analytics. Previously known as Azure SQL Data Warehouse.

    Hi @Smaran Thoomu

    Thanks for your quick answer.

To be honest with you, I have very little knowledge about Synapse workspaces. When I said I deployed it, it is actually not correct. Someone else deployed it (or tried to) and then left the company.

So really, what I was hoping for was that someone from Microsoft could just log in and wipe the resource group. That is why I entered all the connection details to begin with.

Can you do that or arrange that someone does?

    Best regards

    Rasmus

I downloaded the bicep file and found out that there is an associated resource group called synapseworkspace-managedrg-1a51d661-9eb3-4a08-9017-8148a16c34b9. This resource group has a deny assignment which apparently prevents me from deleting the group. I cannot change the deny assignment and thus the trail ends there.
