How to reactivate the Windows Server 2016 Datacenter license

I work at a government company and after 6 years of operation, one of the network's servers lost Windows activation. The respective documentation was lost and we do not have the original license key. How can I reactivate my license?

    To reactivate your Windows Server 2016 Datacenter license, first you need to purchase an activation license for server2016 datacenter and then follow the steps below:

    1. use the command line tool:

    Open a command prompt (run as administrator).

    Type the following command and press Enter:

    slmgr /ipk

    1. Activate the server:

    In the same command prompt window, type the following command and press Enter:

    slmgr /ato

    1. Phone activation (if online activation fails):

    Open a command prompt (run as administrator).

    Enter the following command and press the Enter key:

    slui 4

    Select your country or region and follow the on-screen instructions for phone activation.

    Ensure that your server is connected to the Internet and that you have access to the Microsoft Activation Server. If activation still does not work, you can contact Microsoft Technical Support for further assistance
