Need to Remove Delete option for the Domain User's from File Server where the folder is already shared and user's are having Full rights for the folder.

Tried to Edi the Permission and uncheck the delete option but it doesn't work.

Tried to apply a group policy with deny delete option but permission's are getting replaced with full deny rights.

Kindly help with a solution to remove delete option to all the domain user's for shared folder's mapped in their PC's.

    Hello Feruqh Shariff,

Thank you for posting in Microsoft Community forum.

Did you mean the NTFS permission below on shared folder?

    Image

If so, make sure you have permission (or domain admin) to change permissions on this shared folder.

Then uncheck the Delete permission and save the permission.

Based on "Tried to Edi the Permission and uncheck the delete option but it doesn't work.", what error message did you receive?

    @Daisy Zhou,

I don't get any Error msg, But the delete option doesn't get removed. I am setting the permission through an administrator Login.

    Hello

    Greetings!

Sign in the file server (or which server you shared the folder) using domain admin.

Remember to save the change or click "OK" button below after you uncheck the Delete permission.

Did you change the permission successfully and then the Delete permission appears?

Or you change the permission, but the domain user can still Delete?

Based on "Tried to Edi the Permission and uncheck the delete option but it doesn't work", what do you mean it does not work?

Already full permission is there, But i need to restrict the user's from deleting the files,

After changing the permission still the domain user's are able to delete.
