Hello,

I work in IT and I am using the task manager very often to check processes and also use it at home quite often.

Is there any way to sort task manager processes by name alphabetically by default when I open it?

I know it isn't such a big deal to click the name tab to stop it from sorting by processor use and that is how I normally do so don't suggest that please.

I am also not interested in installing another app for such a minimal need.

Have asked chatgpt, but I was thinking maybe there is some hidden hack that someone knows of.

    Hi Mikael Puusaari,

By any chance are you sorting by name to avoid the processes to move around while looking at them? if so holding down the CTRL key will pause refresh and allow interaction with the interface and processes.

In Windows 11 in the details view, once you order your view by a collum and close and reopen task manager the previous setting should still be there, setting it by default however is currently not supported as far as I know.
