Hi Tripesh Dhoriya,
As you're aware, Azure Database for PostgreSQL - Single Server is scheduled for retirement by March 28, 2025. In response, Microsoft has initiated an automigration process to transition existing Single Server instances to Flexible Server. You've received a notification that your production server's migration is scheduled for March 16.
To ensure a smooth migration with minimal downtime, it's crucial to understand the available migration options:
- Offline Migration: Automigration(Offline Migration) this is a service-initiated migration conducted during a planned downtime window, separate from regular maintenance. While it simplifies the migration process, it involves some downtime.
- Online Migration: Utilizing the Azure Database for PostgreSQL Migration Service, this approach allows for minimal downtime by setting up continuous data replication from the Single Server to the Flexible Server. This method is ideal for production environments where uptime is critical.
