in azure iot central sending properties from multiple components work when i send a message for each component. how can i merge them into one message?

For as far as I know, transformations like merging multiple components/messages into a new message is not possible with the standard Azure IoT Central abilities. I expect you need to make use of logic outside Azure IoT Central. You could make use of the export options of Azure IoT Central, eg. to an Azure EventHub. This comes with some transformation options but I'm not aware how well this will work in your situation. If the response helped, do "Accept Answer". anyway, what i wanted is to reduce MQTT messages to avoid the overhead of multiple messages from the IoT device side.

but in case there isn't an option to merge those messages, why is there an option to append multiple components using the az_iot_message_properties_append

Hello @Avigdor ,

the underlying technique used by Azure IoT Central is the Azure IoT Hub.

it seems this 'az_iot_message_properties_append' is related to the 'application' or 'user' properties.

A device sends a message and this is considered the message body.

Next to the body, a message can also contain the user properties: a property bag (with name/value pairs) used as context to the message body.

It can be used for showing context eg. this is an alert message (alert=true or alert=false).

I'm not sure if these properties can be mapped and made available in the device template of Azure IoT Central.
