Dear All,

Please help with below queries :

Is EDR and Antivirus capability included in 'Defender for server Plan 1' , if yes, then do we also pay for 'Defender for endpoint' ?

I have read somewhere that with 'Defender for Server', integration with 'Defender for endpoint' happens automatically , but do we have to have 'Defender for endpoint' plan to use EDR/Antivirus capabilities on servers, especially on Linux.

    Hi @Munaf Shaik

According to this documentation, https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/defender-for-cloud/defender-for-servers-overview#plan-protection-features, Defender for Servers Plan 1 Supports endpoints and leverages near real-time threat detection using Defender for Endpoint EDR capabilities.

According to this, If you have Defender for server Plan 1 you do not need to pay for 'Defender for endpoint'. I hope this is helpful.

However, single user Endpoint license is required in order to use the 'security settings management' functionality for managing policies. Refer --> https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/mem/intune/protect/mde-security-integration#licensing-and-subscriptions
