Office 2021 for Mac won't edit existing office files

Question

I purchased a single-use license for Office 2021 (not a subscription to 365). I cannot open/edit any of my existing Office files (Word, Excel, etc.). I have seen this problem posted by other users but haven't found any fixes for Mac users. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Did you install other version of Office in Mac before?Did you get any error messages?

It is recommended that you try to uninstall Office for Mac completely in mac then re-install Office in Mac to help you troubleshoot the problem:

Thank you. I uninstalled previous versions of Office and reinstalled 2021. Appreciate the help.
