Hi all,

I am trying to use Microsoft Remote Desktop (Now Windows app) on Mac (M1,M4, Sonoma,Sequoja) Computers to connect to Windows 11 PCs via WiFi connection. As soon as I connect via WiFi6 (ax), the connection is extremely slow (below 1Mbit). When I connect via WiFi5, it works much faster at about 50-70 Mbit. It should be possible to use RD with WiFi6?

Does anyone else have this problem? Any help is welcome!

    Hello,

Below are some troubleshooting steps and potential solutions:

    Check WiFi6 Router Settings:

Ensure that your WiFi6 router is properly configured and updated to the latest firmware.

Verify that the router supports the necessary security protocols and bands (2.4GHz and/or 5GHz) for your devices.

Check for any bandwidth limitations or QoS (Quality of Service) settings that might be throttling your connection speed.

    Optimize Mac Network Settings:

On your Mac, go to System Preferences > Network and select your WiFi6 network.

Ensure that the DNS settings are correct and not causing any delays.

Ensure that you have the latest version of Microsoft Remote Desktop installed on your Mac.

Ensure that all relevant software and drivers on both your Mac and the Windows 11 PC are up to date.

    Try Different WiFi Channels:

If your router supports it, try changing the WiFi channel to see if it improves performance. WiFi6 routers often have more flexible channel options than WiFi5.

I hope the information above is helpful.

    Best regards

    Zunhui
