Visual studio 2022 Maui project unable to compile for .net 9.0-ios target

Hi,
I am trying to deploy a test app to iPhone from windows visual studio but getting the following error when trying to compile.
The specified network password is not correct.
I have completed the automatic provisioning :
I obviously have no problem compiling for android emulator.
I have tried removing the folder AppData\Local\Xamarin, removing bin and ojb folders, relaunching the app, and going through adding apple account again, confirmed there is at least one valid certificate in the list of chains.
Can someone please advise if there is anything else I can try to do?

The device is plugged into your Windows machine, and you are using HotRestart, right?
confirmed there is at least one valid certificate in the list of chains. I want to double-check the confirmation steps: Open MAUI project, go to Properties window, select iOS->Bundle Signing->Scheme (Manual Provisioning)->Signing Identity (Developer (Automatic))->Provisioning profile (the profile you have generated).
If not, how did check the certificate and provisioning profile?
The specified network password is not correct.
On which step did you have the problem? Could you share the context with me? As described on the Doc, you meet the issue at Deploy and debug using hot restart section, right? On step3? Also, you could check if you can update the VS to the latest version.

Andrew Taylor-Brook 0 Reputation points2025-02-06T23:31:22.0533333+00:00 I just updated my app to .NET 9 from .NET 8 and this has started to happen for me today as well.
Prior to the upgrade to .NET 9 it deployed ok using Hot Restart, then I started seeing this error message about my password.

C:\Program Files\dotnet\packs\Microsoft.iOS.Windows.Sdk.net9.0_18.2\18.2.9173\tools\msbuild\iOS\Xamarin.iOS.HotRestart.targets(40,3): error : The specified network password is not correct.
Yesterday after posting, I thought i'd solved it as it seemed to stop happening temporarily - but now it's back again

Steps for me to reproduce the issue :
- Open VS
- Connect iPhone (so it shows an available local device)
- Build project
- Debug to iPhone (Succeeds)
- Stop debugging
- Modify .csproj file in any way (e.g. just add some whitespace in) and save
- Debug to iPhone (don't explicitly build)
- Error about password appears.
- Build the project
- Debug to iPhone (Succeeds)
So the main issue seems to be if the csproj file changes in some way but you don't build the project, the error appears until you do another build.

This happens when I try to debug my MAUI app from my iPhone that is connected to my PC (Windows 11).
The specified network password is not correct. MyProject..App (net9.0-ios) C:\Program Files\dotnet\packs\Microsoft.iOS.Windows.Sdk.net9.0_18.2\18.2.9173\tools\msbuild\iOS\Xamarin.iOS.HotRestart.targets
