Wizard freezing during activation process of Home Office.

Forgive my ignorance and the seeming absurdity of this question. I am still using Office from 2013 and I suppose this all falls under obsolescence. Anyway, an update on my computer happened the other night and I believe the power went off while this was occurring, as I encountered an error the next morning when I attempted to access a project I've been working on in Word. I have, since, "repaired" Microsoft office, via my control panel; but am now being informed I must activate it before February 5th. This is where I'm having issues. Once I sign in, whether through password or code, the Activation Wizard goes blank and stays there, offering no further information. I am in limbo. If I have to purchase again, so be it. It's been twelve years; but if there is a way to get past this roadblock, I would appreciate any input. Thank you..

    Hi @Kevin

Please try repair your Office in Control Panel again, then right-click one Office desktop icon, run it administrator, check whether you can activate it.

Besides, is there an option that activate by Phone, if so, I suggest you try it.

Or you can enter your product key via following CMD commands which are for 64-bit Office 2013. For more, please refer to: https://community.spiceworks.com/t/fix-unlicensed-office-2013-error/1007964

    • CD %ProgramFiles%\Microsoft Office\Office15
    • cscript.exe ospp.vbs /inpkey:AAAAABBBBBCCCCCDDDDDEEEEE
    • cscript ospp.vbs /act
    • cscript.exe ospp.vbs /dstatus

If nothing helps, please re-install your Office.

Reference: Download and install or reinstall Office 2019, Office 2016, or Office 2013

You may try to enter your product key in: https://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/microsoft-365/get-office-and-microsoft-365-oem-download-page?ms.officeurl=getoffice. Check whether you can download the Office 2013 installation file.
