Hello all,

I just configured “Operator Profile” and grant only specific group under “Group Scope” plus only specific Dashboard access to a user , but when she click on the link which she receive via email alert she is not able to view the alert details, it only show the alert name on the top of the page and that’s it. Can some kindly help to resolve this issue, I want this user to view the information about the alert which she received the email about. Screen shot of the alert is attached.

as you can see on the attached screenshot, alert is for "Logical Diskspace" but no alert Details.

Thank you all.image002

    Hi,

It sounds like you're encountering an issue with the SCOM 2019 Web Console where the alert details are not being displayed for a user who has received an email alert.

Here are a few steps you can take to troubleshoot and potentially resolve this issue:

    • Ensure that the user has the necessary permissions to view alert details. Double-check the "Operator Profile" settings and make sure the user is included in the correct group with the appropriate permissions.
    • Verify that the user has access to the specific dashboard where the alert details are supposed to be displayed. Sometimes, limited dashboard access can prevent users from seeing detailed information.
    • Ensure that the alert view is properly configured to display all necessary details. There might be settings that control what information is shown in the alert view.
    • Check the configuration of the SCOM Web Console itself. There might be settings or updates that need to be applied to ensure alerts are displayed correctly.
    • Sometimes, browser compatibility issues can cause display problems. Make sure the user is using a supported browser and try clearing the browser cache or using a different browser.

If these steps don't resolve the issue, you might want to check the SCOM logs for any errors or warnings that could provide more insight into what's going wrong.

    Hi Shaik,

I fully agree with the following points from Xin's reply..the details from the screenshots do not answer those questions:

    • Ensure that the user has the necessary permissions to view alert details. Double-check the "Operator Profile" settings and make sure the user is included in the correct group with the appropriate permissions.
    • Verify that the user has access to the specific dashboard where the alert details are supposed to be displayed. Sometimes, limited dashboard access can prevent users from seeing detailed information.

In additional to this: Have you made sure that the Alert View works fine with other users, preferably Admin? This will show s us if the challenge here is with the scoping and permissions of the role or something else.
Can the same user view the details of alerts from the fat console?
I also see that the view is in the folder "All Alerts", but is unclear if the user is permitted to see the View there.

Please clarify those points, this should make troubleshooting easier.

    Rehards,

    Stoyan
