User changed last name. their profile on a different site that syncs with our AAD still shows old Info

I have a user that got married a few years ago. it looks like the admin at the time updated the information to the new name and new email on that original AD profile. They made the new email the primary and the old email the alias. There are still some bits of info that show the old name when i look at it in AD using the attribute editor. We are upgrading phones but our user has not signed into our MDM account since they changed their name. The user has issues trying to enroll in the MDM with both the old and new email. when i look up their info on the MDM portal, i see the old name and old email for the users profile. I figured that something would have synced up the new email info but it didnt. i attempted to edit some of the info on the MDM portal but it would not let me touch the username which was the former old email. the MDM support is recommending i create a new AD record for the user. is there some info that i can update still that can then sync with our MDM and update that username? i am also wondering what will happen if i delete the old profile and then recreate it with the new name/email and use the same proxy addresses that were in the old profile. is there any other information that i would also need to copy over in order to get the information to sync properly with the new email on the MDM portal? i see x400, x500, and X500 as some of the other strings in the proxy address. i am still newer to IT in general and had a crash course in several areas like this so i dont know if there are other values that would need to be copied over from the old profile.

    Hi @MacGrover

    You should start by checking if the user account in Entra ID is synced from on-prem with last update.

    Once done and you still have the issue , you should recreate his profile using his account updated with last update.
