Dear Microsoft Support,

I am reaching out regarding a limitation I’ve encountered while using Copilot. Currently, there is a restriction that limits document uploads to 1MB (I have a A5 licence). This size constraint is hindering my ability to fully utilize Copilot for larger documents or files, which are critical for my work.

Could you please assist in:

  1. Clarifying the reasons behind the 1MB upload limit?
  2. Suggesting any workarounds or solutions to upload larger documents to Copilot?
  3. Informing me if there are any upcoming updates that might address this issue?

Any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your time and support!

Best regards,

I understand how frustrating this limitation can be. Let's address your concerns one by one:

Reasons Behind the 1MB Upload Limit: The 1MB upload limit is primarily in place to manage server load and ensure optimal performance for all users. This restriction helps prevent potential issues related to large file processing and storage1.

    Workarounds or Solutions:

Compress Your Files: You can use file compression tools to reduce the size of your documents before uploading them.

Split Your Documents: If possible, divide your larger documents into smaller sections that are under the 1MB limit.

Use External Storage: Upload your larger files to a cloud storage service (like OneDrive or SharePoint) and share the link within Copilot2.

Upcoming Updates: There hasn't been any official announcement regarding changes to the upload limit for Copilot. However, it's always a good idea to keep an eye on the Microsoft 365 roadmap and community forums for any updates3.

I hope these suggestions help you manage your documents more effectively. If you have any other questions or need further assistance, feel free to ask!
