Hi,

I was trying to implement Azure vaulted backup using the article https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/backup/blob-backup-overview?tabs=operational-backup.

Unfortunately, I discovered that “HNS-enabled storage accounts are currently not supported. This includes ADLS Gen2 accounts, accounts using NFS 3.0, and SFTP protocols for blobs.”

I contacted Microsoft Support and was advised that support for HNS-enabled storage accounts is on the roadmap, but I couldn’t find this information publicly available.

When will support for HNS vaulted backups be delivered? Is there a place where I can track the progress?

Thank you!

    Hi @Pavel Zemnukhov
Welcome to Microsoft Q&A, thanks for posting your query here.

As of now, HNS-enabled storage accounts are not supported for Azure vaulted backups, as you mentioned. However, Microsoft is working on adding support for HNS-enabled storage accounts in the future. Unfortunately, I do not have information on when this support will be available.

To track the progress of this feature, I would suggest keeping an eye on the Azure Backup documentation and Azure updates. Microsoft frequently announces new features and updates through these channels, so you may be able to find information on the availability of HNS-enabled storage account support there.

Hope the above answer helps! Please let us know do you have any further queries.
