Virtual machines OS & Data disk space alerts

How do I configure alerts to know when my OS and data disk reach nearly full capacity for all my VMs?

I currently have insights to show me, but I have dozens of VMs now, so it is time-consuming to check manually all the time.

I tried creating alerts, but I can't seem to find them under metrics. I understand I need to use log search; I used "Virtual machine free disk space", but it hasn't worked for me successfully.

Can you give me a step-by-step guide on how to do this?

    Hi @ZM-3283 ,

you can create alerts to get a notification message if disk space is low.

Please take a look here: Create or edit a metric alert rule

You have to monitor the FreeSpacePercentage of the LogicalDisk.

    Is this correct?

I followed the link Create or edit a metric alert rule

Does this alert you on the OS disk or the Data disk for my chosen VM?

In the search query do I change anything or keep what it wrote?Screenshot 2025-01-12 183520
