Can I recover my minecraft world if it is deleted?

I had a world in version 1.21.4. I decided to play minecraft 1.0 so I downloaded it and created a new world. Once I was done playing I went back to the world I had on 1.21.4. Upon launch I got a notification which read: "world must be recoverd and it said I can do that in version 1.6.4."
I dowloaded 1.6.4. but I only saw the world I played in 1.0. I double checked before if it was the one from 1.0 and it was. I deleted it and when I loaded minecraft my 1.21.4 world was not there. I wanted to recover the original 1.21.4 world. I looked up how to and it said I must recover it in %appdata% and saves files in minecraft, but it wasn't there.
Do you know how to recover my original 1.21.4 world and why it got deleted in the first place?
