Bing custom Search UI crashes when customizing theme

Question

We are using Bing Search Hosted UI using the JavaScript snippet on multiple customer websites.
Any Custom Search Instances using a customized color theme crashes about 99% of the time with a Server-Error.

The request fails with an HTTP-Status of 500 and responds with the following error:

{"error":{"code":"ServerError","message":"A server error occured"}}

This error happens in the preview mode as well as in production.

In screenshot below the instance is set to the normal classic theme with no customization, notice the preview is working normally.

As soon as i edit even one color variable it fails.

@FWindischNCM This should now be fixed in custom search portal. Here is a screenshot from my customization that works without the error.
