Hey, so about 1 month ago two VM have started getting the following error message " The number of connections to this computer is limited and all connections are in use right now." we changed the GPO limit settings and timeout settings, which worked for a while but then it started happening again. Is there anything else that needs to be done to stop this from happening?

Check the Remote Desktop Session Host Configuration:

    • Ensure the maximum number of connections is set to an appropriate value.
    • Navigate to Group Policy Management Editor > Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates > Windows Components > Remote Desktop Services > Remote Desktop Session Host > Connections.
    • Adjust the Limit number of connections setting to allow more concurrent connections.

Configure the Idle Session Limit and Disconnect Timeout policies to log off users automatically after a specified idle time.

    • Path: Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates > Windows Components > Remote Desktop Services > Remote Desktop Session Host > Session Time Limits.

If your VM is using RDS CALs (Remote Desktop Services Client Access Licenses), verify that sufficient licenses are available.
