Unable to access Microsoft Fabric (personal account) as authenticator not giving notifications or code

A few months ago, I created a personal Microsoft Fabric account using my work account and my email under my own domain. I didn't have an admin for this account. Now, I'm unable to log in because I'm stuck at the authentication step. I lost the account from my authentication app (I had two factor authentication enabled) and when I try to add it back, I receive an eight-digit code instead of the usual six-digit code. Additionally, I'm not receiving notifications on the app to log in. I receive the eight-digit code on the app, but I should be receiving a six-digit code which I can enter on the prompt on the login screen. I am unable to change the authentication to phone SMS or email. Uninstalled and reinstalled the authenticator app without any success.

Tried multiple ways including asking Copilot, asked multiple MS forums but without any success. Has anyone encountered this before?

Is there a way to contact a Microsoft support phone number or email or a chat function where someone would be able to help me out with this.

    Hi @Nithin Balakrishnan

Thank you for posting your issue on Microsoft Q&A.

I understand that you are receiving eight-digit authenticator code when trying to sign into personal Microsoft Fabric account. Even though it’s an 8-digit code.

In Microsoft accounts we get 6-digit code in authenticator app while in personal accounts we get 8-digit code.

Try to Re-register MFA. As you are global administrator you can Re-register MFA for user.

When you sign in again, you will be prompted to set up your MFA. Follow the prompts to add the Microsoft Authenticator app again and sign in account you will receive code.

Hope this helps. Do let us know if you have any further queries.

    Thanks,

    B. Siri Chandana.
