"We’re unable to validate your phone number" when Trying to Create a Subscription for Azure AI Foundry with German Phone Number

I'd like to try the services on Azure AI Foundry. However, when I visit https://ai.azure.com/, I receive the following message:

„You’ll need an active subscription to continue. This directory does not have any active subscriptions. Create a new subscription"

When I attempt to create a subscription, Azure prompts me to validate my phone number. Unfortunately, this doesn't seem to work for German phone numbers, as I have tried three different ones without success.

Am I missing something here, or is there an issue with phone number validation for Germany?

    Hello @HenriJger-6375,

Thanks for posting your question in Microsoft Q&A, apologize for any inconvenience caused on this.

It sounds like you're encountering a common issue with Azure's subscription process, particularly with phone number validation. Here are a few steps you can take to troubleshoot and potentially resolve the issue:

    1. Check Phone Number Format: Ensure that you are entering your German phone number in the correct format. Typically, you should include the country code (+49) and omit the leading zero. For example, if your number is 0301234567, you should enter it as +49301234567.
    2. Use a Different Phone Number: If possible, try using a different German phone number. Sometimes, certain numbers may not be recognized by the validation system.
    3. Try a Different Browser or Device: Occasionally, browser issues can interfere with the validation process. Try using a different web browser or device to see if that resolves the problem.
    4. Check Azure Status: Sometimes, there may be temporary issues with Azure services. You can check the Azure status page to see if there are any ongoing issues that might be affecting phone number validation.
    5. Use a Virtual Phone Number: If you have access to a virtual phone number service that provides numbers from Germany, you could try using that for validation.
    6. Browser Cache and Cookies: Clear your browser's cache and cookies, then retry the registration process.

Do let me know if you are still the facing the issue.
