I already deployed/ implemented a full workable avd environment; but now I want to qdd the session hosts to Intune. Is there an approved method to enrol these VMs after the fact? We cannot recreate them.

    Hi Razzi29,

Welcome to the Microsoft Q&A Platform! Thank you for asking your question here.

Microsoft provides official documentation on enrolling Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) session hosts into Intune. The process varies depending on whether your session hosts are Azure Active Directory (AAD) joined or Hybrid Azure AD joined.

For Azure AD Joined Session Hosts:

When deploying new session hosts, you have the option to join them to Azure AD and enroll them in Intune automatically. This is done during the VM creation process in the Azure portal by selecting the Azure AD join option and enabling Intune enrollment.

    For Hybrid Azure AD joined.
If you have Hybrid Azure AD joined session hosts that are not currently enrolled in Intune, you can enroll them using the following methods:
    https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/mem/intune/fundamentals/azure-virtual-desktop-multi-session#prerequisites

Hope this helps! Let me know if you have any further queries!

    Hi @Razzi29,

Thank you for reaching us and sharing further information.

To enroll already deployed VMs in an Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) host pool to Intune-https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/mem/intune/fundamentals/azure-virtual-desktop#prerequisites

Enroll a Windows device automatically using Group Policy-https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/client-management/enroll-a-windows-10-device-automatically-using-group-policy

Microsoft Entra joined and enrolled in Intune by enabling Enroll the VM with Intune in the Azure portal.

This treatment lets you use some of your existing configurations and secure the VMs with compliance policy and Conditional Access. Intune management doesn't depend on or interfere with Azure Virtual Desktop management of the same virtual machine.

Intune does not support using a cloned image of a computer that is already enrolled. This includes both physical and virtual devices such as Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD). When device enrollment or identity tokens are replicated between devices, Intune device enrollment or synchronization failures will occur.I hope this helps! Let me know if you have any further questions—I'm happy to assist you.
