My computer is randomly crashing! Generally it will be during gaming but can also happen while doing not much at all.

My own suspicion is the GPU but I'm really not sure. It's a new mobo, new RAM, new M.2, all other parts have been reused but are 2 years old or less!

    Hello

Thank you for posting in Q&A forum.

Event ID 2396 is often associated with the Windows Hardware Error Architecture (WHEA) Logger, which records hardware errors detected by the system.

Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot:

    1. Ensure all hardware components are properly connected. Loose or faulty connections can cause hardware errors.
    2. Make sure all your hardware drivers, especially for critical components like the CPU and GPU, are up to date. You can do this through Device Manager or by visiting the manufacturer's website.
    3. Use built-in tools like Windows Memory Diagnostic to check for memory issues, and run a full system scan with your antivirus software to rule out malware.
    4. Overheating can cause hardware errors. Ensure your system is adequately cooled and free of dust.
    5. If a specific hardware component is identified as the cause, you may need to replace it.

I hope the information above is helpful.

If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to let us know.

    Best Regards,

    Daisy Zhou
