I bought a new laptop and tried to make it visible on my home network which I shared with other two PCs. I turned network sharing and file sharing on this laptop but I still cannot see it on File Explorer->Network.

    Hello,

Here are some steps you can try.

    Ensure Network Discovery is on:

Go to Settings > Network & Internet > Advanced network settings > Advanced sharing settings.

Make sure Network discovery and File and printer sharing are turned on.

    Check Network Profile:

Ensure your network is set to Private. You can do this by going to Settings > Network & Internet > Properties of your connected network and selecting Private.

    Enable Necessary Services:

Press Win + R, type services.msc, and press Enter.

Ensure the following services are running and set to Automatic:

    Function Discovery Provider Host

    Function Discovery Resource Publication

    SSDP Discovery

    UPnP Device Host

Check SMB 1.0/CIFS File Sharing Support:

Go to Control Panel > Programs > Turn Windows features on or off.

Ensure SMB 1.0/CIFS File Sharing Support is checked. Note that enabling SMB 1.0 is not recommended for security reasons, but it can help in some cases.

    Firewall Settings:

Ensure that your firewall is not blocking network discovery and file sharing. You can check this in Settings > Privacy & security > Windows Security > Firewall & network protection.

    Restart Your Devices:

Sometimes a simple restart of your laptop and other network devices can resolve some issues.

    Hope this helps.

    Best Regards,

    Hania Lian
