Azure CDN feature flag DoNotForceMigrateEdgioCDNProfiles

The documentation says that we have to set the Preview Feature Flag DoNotForceMigrateEdgioCDNProfiles before 2025-01-07 to opt out of automatic migration to Azure Front Door from EdgIO.

Is it enough to just have this preview feature registered in our subscription or, do we have to explicitly set this flag somewhere within each instance of our CDN after registering the preview feature? We plan to manually migrate all our profiles to a single FD before 2025-01-14.

You need to take the following steps:

Register the preview feature flag DoNotForceMigrateEdgioCDNProfiles for your subscription.

Explicitly set this flag for each Azure CDN from Edgio profile you wish to exclude from automatic migration

The DoNotForceMigrateEdgioCDNProfiles feature flag is used to control the migration behavior of specific CDN profiles during the transition to Azure Front Door.

NOTE: If you plan to migrate to Azure Front Door, set the Feature Flag DoNotForceMigrateEdgioCDNProfiles before January 7, 2025 using Set up preview feature. This will prevent Microsoft from auto-migrating your profiles to Azure Front Door. Auto-migration is on a best effort basis and may cause issues with billing, features, availability, and performance. Note you will have until January 14, 2025, to complete your migration to another CDN, but again Microsoft cannot guarantee your services will be available on the Edgio platform before this date.

It should be done at Subscription level not at resource level If you do this all the resources in that subscription would be prevented from automatic migration to frontdoor.

We've registered the Preview Feature as documented, but I wasn't sure if we needed to do something more at the resource level. The Portal page for the CDN doesn't seem to have any such new option after we registered the feature and neither could I see any additional attribute in the JSON representation of the CDN profile.

Perhaps you are correct that this only needs to be done once at the Subscription level. Maybe that should be mentioned in the Docs on the migration page.
