Microsoft Learn .Net Maui course is how old?

It says "These frameworks all have access to the same .NET 6 Base Class Library (BCL)."

when I do a search on "what is .net 9 bcl version"

I find ...

The BCL (Base Class Library) version for .NET 9 is simply referred to as "BCL 9.0", meaning it is the latest version of the core libraries included with the .NET 9 framework; essentially, it's the set of fundamental classes and functionalities available to all .NET 9 applications.

So, this course is not going to show the latest and current training material?

.net 6 is no longer supported. while web and desktop apps can depend on LTS versions, the rules are different for mobile applications with Maui. there are no LTS versions of Maui. Plan on a yearly upgrade to the latest version of Maui. Also mobile O/S will often require more than yearly releases. Don't plan on longer than 3 month cadence to upgrade your applications to the latest patch level.

it is not uncommon for a new mobile O/S release to break an existing application. while Maui seldom supports pre-release libraries and features, you must test your application on pre-releases and fix any issues hosting the old code on the new release.

App.xaml.cs. This file is the code-behind for the App.xaml file.... What is shown here looks nothing like what is created in my new project in the App.xaml.cs.

I have the latest VS 2022 installed, when I create a new project, On the Additional information dialog, in the Framework selection box, I have 8 and 9 (no 6).

How the heck am I supposed to follow along and learn using this way out of date learning material?

Can someone point me elsewhere to something that is more current (.Net 8 or 9), book, video, course, whatever. Thanks.

at this point, you should start with Maui 9. you can either find a video or training course based on Maui 9 via google, or read what's new to understand the differences from the course.

mobile changes at a fast pace. training and documentation will always be behind. you are lucky that Maui 9 just came out, and you have 11 months before the next major release and you have to start upgrading.

Are you really saying that someone who is not familiar with .Net Maui, can really learn it from trying to follow those courses (which ARE not current). Wow...you must walk on water.
