Hi Ganesh! If you're not using an enterprise agreement or a former Visual Studio Azure Benefit, you really need a credit card. In some regions, Microsoft still offers the Azure in Open (a pre-paid agreement) sold through a reseller.

If you're starting to study Azure, a general tip is to have a Secured Credit Card for this purpose.

@Ganesh Thank you for posting your question!Azure for Students

If you are a student, you can use the Azure for Students offer, which provides free Azure credits and services. Microsoft Azure offers free credit to students and accepts registration without a credit card.

    Microsoft Learn Sandbox

For learning purposes, Microsoft offers a sandbox where you can use Azure services without providing any credit card. Microsoft Learn training is free and available to anyone.

Most of the Microsoft Learn training content involves exercise units where students create real things in Azure, such as virtual machines or Azure functions, to practice what they're learning. You use the sandbox to complete these lessons without a paid Azure subscription.

Microsoft Learn Sandbox | Frequently asked questions

The sandbox works independently from your regular subscriptions. While you're practicing and learning with Microsoft Learn, you can use the sandbox.

Also, the sandbox environment created for a module is available for four consecutive hours to ensure that you can finish the module. The Microsoft Learn exercises are meant to be finished in one sitting, in an hour or less.

    Azure Dev Tools for Teaching

    2. Verify Your Educational Status: Sign up using your academic email to verify your educational status.
    3. Get Free Access to Azure Resources: Once approved, you can access Azure tools and services without needing a credit card, using your educational account.
