Multiple OneNote Printers Appearing on Domain Computer — How to Remove Them?

Hello,

I’m encountering an issue with a domain-joined computer where, when I log in as a local admin, I see multiple OneNote printers listed. Here’s what I’ve observed so far:

  1. In the local environment, OneNote was set as the default printer, so I changed it to a different printer. However, the issue persists — the OneNote printers keep appearing.
  2. When I log in as a domain user, the default printer is correctly set to a shared printer (let's call it "Printer A"), which is configured via Group Policy.

My questions are as follows:

  • Why do so many OneNote printers appear on this computer, especially when logged in as a local admin?
  • How can I remove these extra OneNote printers and prevent them from reappearing?

Any advice or guidance would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you in advance for your support!

    Hi,

This situation can be caused by an issue with the printer driver or system configuration. In some cases, the printer driver may be installed repeatedly, resulting in multiple instances of the printer showing up in the system.

You can try the following steps to remove redundant OneNote printers:

    1. Open Settings > Devices > Printers & Scanners.
    2. Find the extra OneNote printer in the list of printers, tap and select Remove device.
    3. Make sure that you keep only one instance of the OneNote printer.
