Hello, community!

I’m currently deploying various web apps in Azure, including a "Contoso" web app created in the Azure OpenAI Playground and other RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) chats leveraging the GPT-4 (gpt-4o) model. However, I’m running into an issue: the model reports that it doesn’t have internet access.

I’m unsure if this is an inherent limitation of the GPT-4 model in Azure OpenAI Service or if there’s a configuration step I might have missed. Is the GPT-4 model in Azure OpenAI truly unable to access the internet? If so, is there any way to integrate this capability while staying within the Azure ecosystem?

Azure OpenAI Service
Azure OpenAI Service
An Azure service that provides access to OpenAI’s GPT-3 models with enterprise capabilities.

RONY SANTIAGO BANOL RICO Greetings & Welcome to Microsoft Q&A forum!

AFAIK, Azure OpenAI GPT-4 model is a language model that is designed to generate text based on the input it receives. It does not have direct access to the internet.

Can you share the screenshot for better understanding where you are receiving the error?

Did you check Copilot, similar to the OpenAI ChatGPT.

Also, note that there is no plan to integrate this to the Azure OpenAI at this time.
