MS Office 2021 Professional Plus Issue

System: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-14700F 2.10 GHz, 32.0 GB RAM, Windows 11 Home, Version 24H2

In June, I purchased a copy of MS Office Professional Plus 2021 and installed it with my product key. It has been working fine ever since. However, yesterday I received a message that the program detected a hardware change on my computer and that the program needed to be activated. When I tried to activate it online, I got a message that "the product cannot be activated because the product key is not valid." First, I have made no hardware changes that I know of and, second, I was never prompted to use the product key that I used in the original installation. I only got the message that the product could not be activated. The one change I have made to the system since last using the program is installation of the Windows 11 version 24H2 two days ago. Any ideas? Thanks.

Is this Office 2021 a retail version that you bound the key with your Microsoft account, and then log in to the activate Office?

If so, please sign out your account from Office apps, and sign back for a check.

Besides, you may uninstall Office via tool, then restart your machine, reinstall it from Subscriptions & Services page. Or following the article: Download, install, or reinstall Microsoft 365, Office 2024, or Office 2021 on a PC or Mac.
