Hi engineer,

We find that this “Authenticated Users” setting in the ODBC.INI permission is lost

We upgraded those PC OS to Windows 10 Prof 22H2 a few months ago.

Do you know if OS upgrade to Windows 10 Prof 22H2 will reset ODBC this registry settings?

    Hi @Victor Cheung,

Welcome to the Microsoft Q&A and thank you for posting your questions here.

Do you know if OS upgrade to Windows 10 Prof 22H2 will reset ODBC this registry settings?

Yes, upgrading to Windows 10 Professional 22H2 can reset certain registry settings, including those related to ODBC.INI permissions. This is because OS upgrades often involve changes to system files and settings, which can overwrite custom configurations.

To restore the “Authenticated Users” setting in the ODBC.INI permissions, you can manually reconfigure the registry settings. Here’s a quick guide:

    • Open Registry Editor: Press Win + R, type regedit, and press Enter.
    • Navigate to the ODBC.INI Key: Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\ODBC\ODBC.INI.
    • Adjust Permissions: Right-click on the ODBC.INI key, select Permissions, and add the “Authenticated Users” group with the appropriate permissions.

Hope this helps. Do let us know if you any further queries.
