Hello I'm a user of skype for business at my workspace.

I'm writing this question because, nowadays, I am experiencing problems with the Skype app on Android, iOS, and Windows.

  1. Problem in Android Skype for business App I've been using Skype for Business on Android, but I keep experiencing issues where the app fails to update the data and becomes unresponsive. I can log in, but when I enter the app, the contacts and chat history don't update. Even when I try to start a conversation, it only shows 'Updating...' and this message keeps displaying without any progress. I can't open chat windows, and my contacts don't show up, causing the app to freeze. When this issue persists, and every time it happens, I have to reset(I mean, factory reset) my phone to get the app working again. The problem repeats itself every time. How can I handle with this problem?
  2. Problem in iOS and Windows Skype for business App I tried to use Skype on my computer and iOS (iPad), but I am unable to log in on both devices. On iOS, the error message says: “Unable to connect to the server. Please check your network connection and advanced options, then try again.” On my computer (Windows), after entering my ID and domain, I should see a prompt to enter my password, but it doesn't appear. Instead, I get the following popup: “Skype for Business could not find the Skype for Business server for 'company domain'. There may be an issue with your domain's DNS configuration. Please refer to KB2566790 for details and contact your system administrator.”

How can I resolve this issue?

I really need to use my Skype app properly on Android, iOS, and Windows. Could you please provide a solution to fix these issues?

I would appreciate your response.

Thank you.

Regards,

Lucia Ryu

It sounds like you're dealing with multiple issues across different devices and platforms with Skype for Business. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot and potentially resolve these issues:

    For Android:

    1. Clear Cache and Data:
    • Go to Settings > Apps > Skype for Business.
    • Tap on Storage, then Clear Cache and Clear Data.
    • Restart the app and see if the problem persists.
    1. Check Internet Connection:
    • Ensure you have a stable internet connection.
    • Try switching between Wi-Fi and mobile data to see if the issue is network-related.
    1. Update the App:
    • Make sure you have the latest version of the app installed.
    • Check Google Play Store for updates.

    For IOS and Windows:

To resolve these issues, make sure that you add the following service (SRV) and alias (CNAME) records to your Domain Name System (DNS) host:
