I am trying to backup my authenticator app entries to migrate to my new phone. When I try to "Sync Account", I get the error "Your backup is too large. Cannot save to the cloud." When I checked the free storage space available in my MS account, I have 4.99GB free.

I have tried creating a new account, and I received the same error.

I have 189 entries in the authenticator.

Well, in case anyone is wondering the max is 109 entries for cloud backup. I had to manually add accounts to my new phone whilst deleting entries from my old phone. At its current design, the Microsoft cloud backup will only allow for 5MB of data for the authenticator.

Might check if there are some unused accounts on your device that can be deleted to free up some space.
