I appreciate that this is quite an old thread but thought it'd be useful to mention that we encountered this error recently, where we were unable to uninstall an app.

It was caused by an installation program (which uses a rather uncommon installation technology from National Instruments) somehow retaining a lock on the installation folder branching from C:\Windows\IMECache. This meant that InTune was unable to write its content there.

Killing the processes in question fixed it.

Thanks for sharing this. I am a bit confused as I got the same error on my own machine when intune pushed the Cisco Cloud Management. What do you mean by killing the process in question fixed it?

According to your description, I know that you encounter error unzipping download content when deploy win32 app.

Based on my experience, I found that the error may related to .intunewin package, please download the latest Microsoft Win32 Content Prep Tool version, and try again.

I've the same issue but app was successfully installed in some devices on 2023 and now I am trying to add another device into that installation group it's getting the unzipping download content error.

It would be great to have a documented way to force a "download this app and install now" on the client. For troubleshooting it's important to be able to trigger a process so that one can see what happens. It's very expensive to sit there and wait for an installation process to start.

I am having the same issue when trying to run Sentinel One Agent install using the .*exe not the MSI. I have the most recent INTUNEWinAppUtility.exe used when creating the needed file to upload to Intune. I am currently working on Sentinel One here is the configuration:App information

You could save time by publishing the app as available to a test user group that the account you're logged in with is a member off and do the install from the company portal .. if a newly published app and it doesn't appear yet in the CP, then restarting the Intune Management Extension service can help speed up the process.

What do you mean "if it contains blocked files"? The problem everyone is talking about here is the error when trying to push the app install, not create the .intunewin package.

When Intune is unzipping the .intunewin package, and if it contains blocked files ( downloaded from a non-trusted place) it can give the error, the error was fixed by unblocking the files and creating a new .intunewin file, but of course there could be other sources of the error.

When I have the issue it's just random devices. It works fine on most devices and only a few get the error mentioned.
