or one user the job title is adjusted 3 months ago and the change is synced to azure AD, However, when you pull the user in Exchange Online the job title attribute still shows the old one.

On teams, the job title is correct if you pull the contact card of the user directly but if you pull the same user's contact card from an organizational tree it shows the old job title.

what is this glitch? I want to know if this is a glitch in the backend so I can write a quick runbook PowerShell to keep them in Sync until MS fixes the issue.

we have resolved the issue. there was a validation error as we have miss-matched Archive GUID between on-premises Exchange and exchange online for those users. this had happened due to a glitch with MS during our migration. we took the Archive GUID from EXO mailboxes and populated in on-premises exchange of remote mailboxes that had the issue and that resolved the attribute sync between azure ad and exchange online

The job title gets adjusted in on-premise active directory which then obviously sync to Azure AD.

Thanks @Riaz Ansary for the clarification. So, it seems that, the change in on-premises AD has been properly synced to Azure AD but hasn't been forward synced to Exchange Online properly.

As regards to your concern about whether it's a backend glitch, I just tried searching a lot but so far haven't seen similar reports recently or any public document stating this issue.

Does it only affect this particular user? If yes, in case it's due to any unknown transient issue occurred when the user's title attribute was changed, I'd suggest trying to change the Job Title once more by doing something like adding extra space etc. and see if the adjustment can reflect to Azure AD and then to Exchange Online as expected.
