Hello,

I have a client on a win 10 workstation (all the latest patches). They have a s: drive mapped to our server shared drive. It was working fine until he changed something and is unsure what. I think something with offline folders but that is just a guess.

If I map s: via \server\shared it only shows one folder.

If I map s: via \192.168.22.10\shared all the folders show.

If I remove the map drive and put it back I still have a limited view - only one folder.

Sorry - I forgot to post the answer. I had fixed the offline file thing in settings EXCEPT I'm a dork and forgot to reboot. After I did that it resolved the issue.

Yes we use dns to attach to the server by the server name (in local DNS server) - it helps with authorizing trusted locations in word and excel.

Hmmm... one thing that could be the issue is if you access the server using another name (like a CNAME) and you have enabled the security option "Microsoft Network server: Server SPN target name validation level: Required from client. In that case, if you try to access a file share on a remote computer where there is no SPN for this server name, it will not show any folders / files. But if you access using the IP address, you just bypass Kerberos Authentication and NTLM is used instead.___11111111

Greetings, I have the same problem with 2 different customers. Mapped drive suddenly shows only 1 folder. If I enter the location in Explorer: \hostname\shared, the result is the same. If I enter \192.168.1.8\shared it works. What is the solution here? EDIT: Nevermind, I think i found the answer. You have to manage Offline files in Sync Center on clients PC, where you have to disable syncing to that mapped drive. You can also completly turn this off for shared folders on Windows server going to Server Manager, click on Shares, right click and Properties on problematic share, open Settings and uncheck Allow caching of share
