Live Search for Windows Mobile updated with Voice Search

Yesterday we announced the updated Live Search client for Windows Mobile devices and it will be available for download later today!

The updated Live Search for Windows Mobile® 5.0 and 6.0 now includes voice input (beta version), gas prices, and hours of operation for businesses. The service can also use Global Positioning System (GPS) data on GPS-enabled phones to provide location-aware local search for customers.

The Voice Search is really smart, however still my favourite feature is the ability to SMS the details of something you've found (eg a restaurant) to friends and colleagues.  This was really useful at a recent event we had at Wembley Stadium in the UK when we were searching for an Indian Restaurant late at night after rehearsals overran!  We found the local restaurant and TXT'd the details to a couple of colleagues that were joining us... even better it even sends a link for a map showing where the restaurant is!

For developers this a really cool application as it is only 1 install for all devices from a single CAB!

You can get the download from https://wls.live.com - just enter the address in your device and you can install it over the air!

Now why does the "Client Update" option inside an old version work to upgrade us?

Hi Eagle117 - do you mean it doesn't work or does work?

Where can you find directions on how to use the voice command stuff?
