Xbox Media Center
hey, even a dummy like me can understand this: “Xbox Media Center will allow the Xbox to become the center of your digital home with features including MP3/WMA playback, Movie playback (AVI/MPG etc), net connection to music services (Napster) and all the other goodies that Windows Media Center allows you to do.”
My xbox is already connected to my home theater. And it is also connected wirelessly to broadband for xbox live. And to my home pc. You mean I could use it as the conduit for playing all of that digital content I have on my pc? suhweeet.
Here's the official website.

My XBMC won't seem to play the title menu of the DVD-ROM, directly from the DVD itself. Is there any way to get to the Menu screen of DVD-ROM from XBMC? - Anonymous

ok here it is the deal with xbmc and dvds
xbmc will play dvd with NO MENU support (a lot of us are waiting for that) the guy who was working on that stopped for lacked of time.
2 ways to play the dvd one is to simply open the ifo file and the movie will start up.
the other way is to parsed all the vob files and you have to find the one that is the movie with the language you want, usually is the largest vob. by parsing the vob you are combining all the pieces into one so that you do not have to open another vob in the middle of the movie. - Anonymous

I am having problems playing certain original DVDs (Store Bought) using XBOX Media Center. One of the DVDs I am having problems with will only play about 3 seconds of the into. One of the others.....it won't play any of it at all. Does anyone know what could cause certain DVDs not to work with Media Center? These are store bought DVDs. Thanks in advance! -J - Anonymous

Another note: All my "Backup Copies" (using DVD Shrink) work great! Just Original DVDs give it problems. It locks up sometimes and others it just plays one tiny VOB. -J - Anonymous
