Microsoft Visual Studio 2022 Object Reference Not set to an instance of an object

Hello,

Recently, I updated my vs to the latest version. But I cannot checkout or change to other branch. Vs always throw below error message.

I've tried to remove the following folders and restart my vs:
C:\Users\%userprofile%\AppData\Local\Microsoft\VisualStudio
C:\Users\%userprofile%\AppData\Local\Microsoft\VSCommon

Before vs2022, I used vs2019. But no such error.

Could you please help me to fix this issue. It bothers me so much.

I am seeing this: An error occurred trying to load the page. Object reference not set to an instance of an object. error when I click the Compile button on the My Project screen.

Welcome to Microsoft Q&A!

Can you tell me the detailed version of your VS2022? The latest version of VS2022 is version 17.0.2.

You can remove the hidden .vs folder in the project folder and re-launch your Visual Studio to check if the error disappears or not.

I suspect your Visual Studio is corrupted. If possible, you can try to uninstall it and install it again.

Thank you very much for your quickly reply.

My VS2022 version is 17.0.2. I just updated it to the latest today.

And I also removed all the project folders and use Git to checkout the source code again. Then re-launch my VS to switch to other branch.
Unfortunately, it has the same error.
Actually I tried many ways to fix this issue. But all not worked.

The only way I known I didn't try is to uninstall and install it.

Hi @Weiyan Lu , please close all Visual Studio instances and repair your VS through VS installer > More > Repair.
Have you tried to create new projects and new branches? Does it still repro?

I have the same problem as OP. I tried repairing via Visual Studio Installer. I also uninstalled and reinstalled Visual Studio on my machine, and I still have the same error. I am using VS2022 version 17.0.4 (enterprise).

i have 17.12.2 version of visualstudio 2022 I also getting the same error when i create a vsix project and build it.i tried repairing, reinstalling and nothing working :(.....Please help me any solution available
