Hi All,

We are trying to manage Edge updates on a Windows Server 2019 using GPO.

We set the "update policy overwrite" to "Updates disabled"

Logging in as administrator and check for updates, we are getting the message "updates are managed by your organization" as expected.

Instead, if we do same using a standard user account (no admin rights), updates checks start and a process ask for elevation.

If we provide admin credentials to elevation request, we will get above message.

Otherwise, if we click cancel (or block elevation requests) the check ends up with an error message

Do you experience same? Same behaviour on Chrome 84.

We don't see this on Edge 83.

Thanks,

David

    Hello,

    Thank you for posting here.

As per our description, I tried to do the test in my lab, but so sorry that I did not experience the same. Below is my test, please tell us if there is any misunderstanding.

1, I configured the policy for Edge update as shown below.

2, Then check for update, it shows as below. Login with administrator account or normal user account, there is the same result showing "Your organization disabled updates"

For any question, please feel free to contact us.

    Best regards,
