Configure devices from multiple Microsoft 365 tenants in different OUs with Intune

Hello,

Is it possible to use multiple tenants for Intune if the devices belong to the same domain? More precisely: Can a hybrid join be configured via the Intune Connector so that it does not refer to the entire domain, but to the specific OU of the corresponding tenant?

The goal is to pre-configure devices from different Microsoft 365 tenants via Intune (Autopilot) and ensure that they join the correct OU in a shared domain.

Thanks for your advice!

@Jan F, Thanks for posting in Q&A. Based as I know, it is not possible to configure multiple Microsoft Intune tenants to manage devices that belong to the same domain. Intune is designed to work with a single tenant per domain, and Microsoft Entra hybrid join is configured at the domain level, not at the organizational unit (OU) level. Here's why this limitation exists.

For your scenario, here are some workarounds:

    1. Separate Domains for Each Tenant:
    • If possible, create separate domains for each tenant. This allows each domain to have its own Microsoft Entra hybrid join configuration and Intune management.
    1. Use Microsoft Entra Join Instead of Hybrid Join:
    • If hybrid join is not a strict requirement, you could use Microsoft Entra join. Devices can be joined to different Microsoft Entra tenants based on their configuration profiles during Autopilot deployment.

Hope the above information can help.
