After members receive this email, can this shared folder still be accessed through a shared link in emails?
Have family members deleted the files in this folder?
I suggest you also go to OneDrive online > Shared > By you, find and right click on this folder, select "Manage Access". Go to Groups / family, check whether this sharing is still active.
I suggest you move or cancel this sharing, then re-share this folder for a check.
