How can I get screentips or equivalent on shapes in excel 365

Help please

In 2023 I wrote a genealogy spreadsheet with macro buttons on the sheets. I added an icon for each button with a screentip describing the button's function.

The screentips worked 2 years ago but some update on 365 has disabled them despite the screentip option still being in the link settings for shapes. They no longer work when hovered over in the latest version of office 365.

The same spreadsheet works OK and displays the screentips on an old computer with Office 2010 installed.

How can I get my tooltips back in Office 365? Alternatively can someone suggest an alternative way of flagging up descriptions of the function of my macro buttons?

Thank you

Regards Ken

    Hi,

Did you get any error messages when opening the problem Workbook?

It is recommended that you check whether macros are disabled in Excel 365, please go to File- Options- Trust Center- Trust Center settings...- Marco Settings and check the option "Enable VBA macros", then restart the Workbook:

After enabled, check whether the macro can be used normally.

Hi, The problem is not about Macros. They run OK. The problem is Screentips no longer show on shapes in Office 365.

    Regards
