Implementing SpecMap (extension) Functionality Directly in Azure DevOps

With the end-of-life for the SpecMap extension on Dec 31, 2024, I'm looking for alternative solutions to replicate the roadmap planning capabilities that SpecMap provided in Azure DevOps.

Previously, I could build features and iterations flexibly without being tied to specific timelines. I want to understand how to use Azure DevOps Delivery Plans to achieve similar road mapping functionality, potentially exploring other options as well.

The key features I need include:

  • Flexibility to categorize features into buckets such as "out of scope," "future," and "Day 2," without anchoring them to specific dates.
  • Creating a board that visualizes the buildup of features through stories across different iterations.

Is there a way to achieve the flexibility in Azure DevOps Delivery Plans that SpecMap offered? Have other users successfully implemented similar functionalities in Azure DevOps? Any strategies or workarounds would be greatly appreciated, especially since new users can no longer be added to SpecMap.
